The Duke's Commission Build

Hello all,

This is a model I was commissioned to build by someone who loves early WWII aircraft. This is also one of my Modeler's New Years Resolution builds so I'm glad I finally got it done.

This is the ancient Airfix Handley Page Hampden in 1/72 scale. I built it out of the box, yet had to scratch an upper window on the top of the fuselage due to that part disappearing. I also had a bit of an issue with one of the tail decals that refused to release a portion of the decal for placement on the model. Overall it was about what I expected so I[m pleased with how this looks now. My client is also pleased with the model so far as well. Here it is finally completed and ready for deliver:

Okay that is all I have for now. Thanks all for looking in, comments are welcome.

Lookie there! (y) A Chuck Sterns Award entrant! Even the new Airfix Hampden Mk.1 is the old Airfix issue.
Well Done Mr. Deladuka! (?!?!) :ro: :dude :good:

James, Helios, Bob, thanks guys for the great compliments. They are most appreciated.

LOL! Not by a longshot! I haven't the skills to even be in the same room as a contender for that award!

Thanks again man; you are very kind.

Thanks Chuck! BTW, have you seen my Motor Pool? I was hoping you'd see that.

Thanks Mike! I'm happy with it and glad to get it to him.

That model would be a great entrant for the Chuck Strens award.
I was lucky enough to win the first Chuck Strens award.
I build the Aurora AH-54 Cheyenne.

Thank you Frank you are very kind. Your AH-56 is quite a terrific model, way to go! If I ever get to that contest to enter; I'll see about bringing some other 'vintage' kits that could possibly also fit. This one has been delivered already. I just don't see me ever getting there.
