translated from Japanese:

Regarding Tamiya's mirror paint: Primer and plating paint are sold separately:
Apply primer thinly and let it dry for 24 hours
After drying, apply the plating paint
Drying is recommended for 24 hours, but it mostly dries almost immediately
Clear coat or top coat is no good
But it's hard to discolor even if you touch it
It's okay if it clouds over time.
No idea what it'll be like after a few years
For cleaning, use tool cleaner

As someone who has been chasing the holy grail of chrome paint thats works for years this looks very much like all the other products, Revell spray is the easiest as its straight from the can with no primer. Molotow can be sprayed or brushed and is on a par with Revell. Products like MRP work as a satin or white chrome and actually produce a good alloy finish although its not advertised for this. Alclad is not really up to the job, it produces a sort of black chrome all the while the black base shows through but if you cover the black you get shiny silver. TBH all are a compromise and are aluminium particle based , none contain chrome.
The only way that Tamiya would be any better is if they have found a way for it to pass the handling test. IE: can you wipe it even gently, with a cloth.

I think it boils down to what technique you pick up. Y'all know my love hate with Alclad you can get good results but like Paddy said Molotow seems about the best IMHO.
