Tamiya Matilda - Finished.

Re: Tamiya Matilda

Thanks Mike!

I touched up the borders between the camo in a couple of spots. I think that keeping the barrel / machine gun / mantlet parts un-glued for paint touch up was a good idea. They cleaned up nicely. Future was thinned with alcohol was applied to the areas that would receive decals. Decals were applied with a little micro-sol from Microscale to help those thick Tamiya transfers lay down. I took my usual liberty with the decals and kind of mixed and matched the set into a somewhat believable scheme. I started painting out some of the details and tools with various Valejo acrylics. You know the drill …

I keep “twanging” that mirror…

Cheers,

Bill

Re: Tamiya Matilda

Very Nice!

I like the colors you used to replicate that scheme. They look fine on there.

Tamiya Matilda

Time flies.
I can’t believe that this one sat out [strike]most [/strike] ALL of 2013! She’s a queen, but let’s see if we can bring ‘er home and take off her crown. (y)

While I was dirtying up the Stuart (and when I had all the paint products out), I gave Matilda a filter, a wash, pin wash, and some scratches with a sponge and enamels. (Sometimes it's good to have a couple of things going at once). :idonno

Thanks for looking!
Cheers,

Bill

Really like it. What paint did you use for the Caunter scheme?
James

James, I had to go back and look, but luckily I wrote it down. Basecoat of Tamiya XF-59 (desert yellow) and a first camo coat of XF-21 (Sky) , and Camo color three. XF-13 (J.A. Green). No claims of historical accuracy. I think you can bend that light color (Sky) in alot of differnt directions and be OK. :hmmm ?

Thanks for putting glass on it.

Cheers,

Bill

Really like this, Bill. Shame we don't see too many of these at shows & comps...

Keep up the good work on your work benches.

And that’s a wrap. HRH’s crown crushed under a feverish finale.
I decided to forego dusting and piments. It seems like I loose all the subtle effects when I go that route. Maybe later when I’m tired of looking at it.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Bill
