Tamiya Diorama Texture Paint In The USA

Iron Mike

Master At Arms And Resident Curmudgeon
After reading some rave reviews and checking my usual sources to no avail, I was wondering if the Tamiya texture paint is available in the US yet and if so, where? Thanks in advance!

First question is, what is it?

Hi there.

It's for making textured groundwork and painting it in one step from a jar.

Here's a link to it I found via Google.

I'm not so sure about coloring Mr Surfacer. Mostly because it starts out with it's own color. It would be easier to just apply Mr S. then paint.

Here is the stuff. If you click on the little color circle of each product, it will give you a little demo.

It looks mildly interesting to me. But I might change my mind if I was able to use some to see what it was like, and what you could do with it. It looks like it might be real good at making mud and muck up in the running gear of a tank or other ground pounder.

I found this link, doesnt give much info. Seems like something of a weathering paint or something. Release is planned for mid May.

It would make great nonskid if the texture is scaled down enough, but then just normal flat would be textured well enough.

Thanks, guys! Joe, I've never bought anything from Tower hobbies. Are they a good source??
