At first I was not that thrilled with using this brown color but went with it anyway because I had nothing else to go on. However, just a few weeks ago I came across a discussion on the net about why there were variations in Japanese camouflage colors and the Ki-46 was one of the aircraft mentioned and after reading the whole article and am now glad I chose brown to paint my model with. I did not save the article but wish I had because the guy was quite knowledgeable and what he had to say was logical.
