sWS halftrack Revell/Italeri kit

Looking good. I like the fan for the generator too. One thing though, maybe have the search light a bit further back in the box? It looks kind of close to the overhang. That and I'm sure it would get really hot so would nead more unimpeded air flow and away from the crew. Just a thought based on the carbon arc searchlights on some aircraft I worked on. They were smaller and they got very hot. Really enjoying this Matts.

thanks James :)

Well i have glued the base already and painted so i guess it has to stay where it is :(
Planned to have some stowage in the back and maybe one or two from the crew :idonno

Did some chipping on the trailer and the searchlight, will go over and adjust a little bit where it's needed and then a wash maybe to soften things up and bring some variation :hmmm

Had to search for my old camera because the memorycard is messing things up in the normal one, here is a pic of the latest progress.

P1010149.JPG

As i don't have future, i used tamiya rattle can gloss clear and after the decals where on i sprayed tamiya flat clear on (not completely flat but it looks good)

Scrapped the plastic tracks :( they didn't match up in the end and was almost falling apart, working on the friultracks now.... must get another set to now so i have for both :bang head :bang head :bang head

//Mats

Not giving up on the sWS :) just the stupid plastic tracks (can be that i did something wrong to.... :idonno )

Will order one more set of friultracks, and i need some more burnishing agent from Uschi van der rosten.

//Mats

2 lengths of tracks ready, just need to put them in a chemical bath and then wait for the next set to arrive, then my 2 SwS's will have shoes on! :dance

No pics because my old camera sucks and the one i usually uses don't accept the memorycard anymore, gonna try with a new card and see if it works.....

//Mats

Managed to take one good pic with the old camera to show progress with the tracks

Busy with different shades of pigments.

P1010192.JPG

The tracks are first burnished with chemicals and then painted using tamiya XF64+XF84 then a light dusting with XF52.
After that pigments (MIG), Light rust, european dust, light dust and on the inside black smoke

//Mats

First track in place, going to be some more dust as i have everything in place

I'm happy i decided to switch to the friultracks instead of the plastic ones in the kit, those will serve as sparetracks or something :)

//Mats

thanks i am happy with how they turned out, just have the tedious work to put 2 more lengths of tracks together for the 2nd sWS
