Sherman IIa in work.

Right then.............. I added the MIG deep green wash. Other than a final flat coat and some more dirt, what else needs to be done? I am not real impressed with this MIG filter set right now. On future builds,I may try the steps differently.

The green color looks too bright in my humble opinion Chad.Maybe you could tone it down somehow using Olive Drab, maybe again in Wash form or Dry Brushing. :hmmm

Did you know that MIG productions produces Enamel Washes AND Enamel Filters (they are not the same). The Filters are produced under the name Sin Industries and are way more subtle then Washes, when using Enamel Filters it's best to use multiple layers with enough drying time in between.

Anyways, the model does look good,it's just the color that needs some more work on it.

Lets turn this around,I know you can do it! :good:

Thanks Ron. :) The bright green is the olive green oil based paint that came with the filter set. I doubt if I will ever use that again. I did learn that filters go on much better over a matte coat vs a gloss coat. Should I thin the filters down?

If you use the Sin Industries enamel based Filters then there is no need to thin them at all,Chad.Thet are very thin as it is,just stir very well.
If you use Enamel based,or Oil based washes you might want to thin them down,if you are going for a filtering effect.

Going to find a good video for you and the people who want to try this Filtering technique.

Oh,and ofcourse you can make your own Filters using Enamel paint and thinners. ;)

And this might come in handy as well: http://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CCkQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.scalemodelguide.com%2Fpainting-weathering%2Fweathering%2Fpaint-washes%2F&ei=DtzfVID4Ior3O9jugYgG&usg=AFQjCNFquhNkJ3id3UglgbhImpaUQopeng&sig2=9HrhweMKsYks3F8PEOvbsA&bvm=bv.85970519,d.ZWU&cad=rja

Really like that you're sticking with this Chad, trying something new.

I kinda fall back on Dad's Painting OD lesson he gave us a while back.

Think you could blend this in with some raw umber drybrush now.

Thanks Bob. :) Raw umber dry brush? :idonno Tomorrow, after I take the truck to an International dealer :bang head I am going to work on this some more.

I did a dry brush last night. I used Testors green drab with some faded olive drab. I brushed that onto the areas where that light olive green was on. On the first pic,I went nuts with it by the cow.
