SDKFZ wood cab late

I woke up early this morning . No work again today due to snow. So I decided to get the wood cab out and open her up and start building.
This is what I have so far..........

Once it got past the frame work it really started to go fast......next is the wood work

Next I just fit everything together to see how she will look.....

The next step was to paint the wood sections in a medium wood tone color followed by a salt treatment for chipping. Then a coat of red brown primer was added to everything

next a second layer of salt was added over the red brown to achieve to different levels of wear and chipping, followed by a couple of light coats of sand. It was intentionally done in a lighter color to compensate for the filter to come later

These layers were then dried with a hairdryer and then the salt was then rubbed away. With this done smaller detail chipping will be done by hand with a small brush

The end result should be a used and abused late war war horse that needs a lot of tlc

Thanks MP . When I decided to chip and wear so heavily I had a full blown plan for the base work I wanted . Now another idea has popped into my head so the struggle is on. which way do I go .......which way do I go. :fencing
