Ron Schultz' Bunnies.

Ron Schultz asked me to cast some rabbits for him.

One needed new ears and the other just sucked.
I swear I won't bore anyone over much by posting every minute detail. I will also do my best not to say anything dumber than usual.

As usual, I went overboard. I seem unable to switch off my imagination. Sweet whistling Geronimo!
One head is Ronnie Rabbit. Ronnie's accessories include a fat stogie and big bottle of, gee, I dunno, "Spring Tonic"?
The second head is for a wee Bonnie Bunny. Bonnie has much better manners and teeth than Ronnie does.
My buddy Carl suggested a carrot might be in order for Bonnie. I stuck a left-over bit of Milliput in Teresa's little drill and voila'! Bonnie's carrot!

These Bunny bits are in mold containers, ready for RTV.
This is as far as this rabbit project is going. I am NOT repeating the 1/700 PT Boat Base performance by constantly dreaming up more rabbit stuff!

Ron's bunny bits initial castings. The bottle is a little short. Carrot, torso, ears and Cigar are nice.
Not too bad for the "Test Shot".

I don't want anyone to think everything I do is perfect. The heads held air in the mold. I'll relieve the mold a little to let the air bubbles out more readily. The next set should be satisfactory.

Bonnie Bunnie got her ears today. I realized I wanted Ronnie Rabbit to sit on the shelf next to Rick Raccoon so they could puff away on thier stogies and observe the goings on at TLAR Models. I started the wrong bunny and I don't have enough ears to make both!!
ZORN!!

The bunny torso is in a separate mold, so casting 2 for each kit is an easy deal. The fact that they would be the same irked me.
Since Ronnie Rabbit is such a naughty bunny, I made a new right paw for him. The next mold includes ears, the new paw and a hairy mole.

I recall my friend Carl asking me for a hairy mole. I don't remember why he wanted one, but he asked. SOoooo...................

In truth, it's Harry Mole in the mold. I had a left-over ball of cured Milliput on the desk. One thing led to another, as usual. Beady eyes and a big, silly pink nose! Harry's paws aren't quite what I hoped for, but the resin casting will shape readily. Holes are drilled in the Master so short bits of black invisible thread can be added to complete Harry's disheveled coiffure.
Do you suppose Harry is a Dermatologist? An Optometrist, perhaps!
Heaven alone knows!
Harry Mole will be included in the updated Double Bunny kit!
I plan to send Carl both of these moles to complete the play-on-words both of us enjoy!

Not much goes to waste around here, so I used the imperfect bubble bunny head castings for the art-work bunnies. I wouldn't sell castings that needed that much repair. Bonnie's head had some obvious flaws after priming. Fixed that!

Warming the resin ears in hot tap hot water makes them pliable enough to portray different moods.
Bonnie looks cheery and sociable. Ronnie looks more like "WTF did you just say to my Bonnie?!?"

So the big bottle is painted.

Possible decal labels. Shameless violations of Watership Down copyrights.
Oh! What color should Bonnie be? There are only TWO Bunny genders!
Ronnie will be gray with a white tummy and black ring around one eye. Bandage on one of his ears?
This is an odd subject for me, but it sure is a lot of FUN!!

Meet Harry Mole! He might be the chunkiest mole I ever saw. I wish I could see Carl's face when he receives both his moles.

A properly unkempt looking, finished Harry Mole.

Wee Bonnie Bunny with her bottle. Doesn't she look cheerful?! Bonnie is the same color as Operation Granby RAF aircraft during Desert Storm. Model Master piping pink for her ears and nose. The bottle is finished in Tamiya chrome paint pen, clear green and X22 Clear lacquer.
Label decals haven't been printed yet. All three labels will be included with your fun, new Bunny Kit!


Ronnie Rabbit is not to be trifled with! His torso, with installed optional paw, awaits paint. "Did you just call my Bonnie a Dumb Bunny!? We'll just see about that!"
Ronnie's bruised eye is Model Master violet. He will be overall Floquil reefer gray. White eyes, tails, teeth, paws and bellies are Stynlrez white acrylic primer.

Contents of Ron's Bunny set. The carrot and stogie are finished in some old Valejo paints Mike gave me many moons ago.

I've had 399 visitors to the TLAR Hobby Shop website to date. That seems really good to me considering that M/A is the only sort of social media I use. I wish there was a tool to see what items visitors view.
I have written 3 Blogs so far. I am about due to write the 4th one. That's kind of fun, but I feel like I'm "beating my own drum".
I sold 3 kits. If this pace continues I will pay the website costs for another year, but not much else.
No Ron's Bunnies kits have sold so far. It's only been one day.

I don't want to be the Guy that talks about nothing but his website.
Charlie Kucera did that to me. I found it overbearing and self serving. Kinda turned me off.
That being said, Charlie posted just pictures of boxes. I post pictures of contents too, so a Guy can see EXACTLY what he is buying! Just like I used to on eBay and Hobbyswap.

The Big Black Bunny Rum decal works very nicely.

It was a while ago, but Don Barry wanted a rock wall for a diorama he was working on. He used rocks. Me too!
If Ron's Bunnies are going to contests, they will need a base. White glue and green grass with a sprinkling of wild flowers should elevate the "Cute Factor" enough to evoke the model mirth I hope for.

Dude, I cut some lines of turf. Harry Mole is bummed. His silly pink nose is too small to toot much turf.

Bunny Base progresses. Elmer's school glue dries slowly enough to apply Woodland Scenics turf. Gator Glue thin works well for patching up the bare spots.

Rabbit Crossing?
The vignette doesn't really lend itself to show much motion.
