We had quite the thunderboomer storm the other morning. Some real life stuff got in the way of this small bit of Fokkery.
Mornings here are quite dark, so Dad's pick-up needed the taillights fixed. I installed new taillight assemblies, monkeyed with wiring and then I remembered to check the easy stuff first. It still needed the pigtails for the bulb sockets. I finally won!

I always thought the D.VII looked as if it was wearing fashionable sunglasses. I'm doing my best not to get carried away and just enjoy the D.VII build. The kit BMW engine will serve. Nothing fancy to see here. Base coats, washes and dry-brushing details. Finishing 101, as the Old Guys taught me. I'm not sure these aircraft flew in combat long enough to get rusty, but......
(Rustybutt?!?)

Decals, decals and decals. The winged arrow on the rh side chunked, so patching it with extra white was needed. It's not as nice as I hoped, but it isn't Life and Death. It's just an airplane model. The final picture is the last decal applied before I can finish installing struts and flat coat. A little exhaust staining will go on the upper wing struts, aft of the exhaust stack.

Does replacing the kit Spandau gun barrels with brass 1/350 3" .50 caliber brass cannon barrels qualify as getting carried away?
I hope not. I like menacing-looking bullet-spitters!
Cheers, mates!
