this photo has always fascinated me

There was a show not long ago that made the case that this actually captures one of the midget subs in it's torpedo run. In the middle of the harbor you can see water spouts and torpedo runs. Previous interpretations said this was from a torpedo bomber run but the claim now is the water splashes are actually rooster tail from the sub as the torpedo left the sub and the weight of the sub changed causing it to surge up in the water.

A lot of people make fun of the movie, but "Pearl Harbor" is one of my favorites along with "Tora, Tora, Tora". :salute Thanks for the pics. Gary
