A close up of the wing surface detail, the rivet detail is so fine that it will likely disappear under a heavy coat of paint.

Structure inside the fuselage, mostly clear of ejection pin marks but no locators for the detail to be added later.

Back side of gear doors have no ejector pin marks, always a plus

A close up of the dive brakes, note that a photo etch set will be available for those not wishing to drill out the holes.

The clear parts are quite nice, thin and clear with little optical distortion

The decals provide marking for two aircraft, one from VB-83 from the USS Essex, April 1945 and the other from VB-12 from the USS Randolph, February 1945. The sheet also has instrument dials for the IP and what seems like hundreds of stencil decals.

The kit also comes with belts and harnesses and a PE fret with the hardware for them as well as a gun sight and ammo belts.

A list of after market sets planned is below, I'm sure they will more than double the cost of the kit. For me the dive brakes will be the only one of interest.

The instructions are a stapled booklet 15 pages long printed in color on glossy stock, as you can see from the sample pages below the interior is pretty well detailed out of the box.

Even the gear bays are well detailed requiring only some piping for those with AMS

And for those who like placing stencil decals...

And there are nearly as many on the top side as well.

Don't expect a Tamiya style fit on this one as it says on the front page of the instructions

Note the UNDER 14 age limit ;)

Cool Gary! I knew that HPH was working on this, their first plastic kit. Have their resin kit so won't be jumping on this one.

It is kind of funny you posting this as I looked on their site just 2 days ago to see what was going on. They are working on the 1/32 DC-3 civilian kit, a 1/48th scale Dornier Do X, a 1/32 scale Bv 138 seaplane, and have announced the 1/32 scale Me323 Gigant.

Am still waiting on the 1/32 scale Savoia Marchetti SM79 that is also in the background.

Thanks for posting about the Helldiver!

A 1/32 Me 323?

Jasus, Mary, Joseph, and the donkey! Why not just bump it to 1/35 and use it in dioramas with armor!?

Yeah that would have made more sense as it was a transport. Definitely too big for most displays with a 67.9 inch wingspan.

In plastic they have a Val and a Vampire in the works for their next two releases.
Both of those would be interesting kits to build Gary!

As it has been a while since I looked at my kit, it looks to me like it is mostly the same setup as the resin kit, just in plastic.
