Question regarding resin casting

Sorry if this seems out of place, but I put it here 'cause it is not Help, but Curiosity!

Hey guys, I have a question. So I am interested in getting back into this and have been perusing many of the sites, as y’all can well imagine. I found this cool place called LIVE-RESIN that has incredibly detailed weapons and items in 1/35th scale and I was wondering….how do they MAKE something that small to use to build a mold?

I understand the resin casting process, but I am thinking that you have to have a master to make a mold, but really gang, how are they able to produce something that accurate? Is the master hand sculpted or something????

I'm pretty sure those were made on a 3D printer from actual drawings and pieces. Crazy good stuff if you're into modern armament. B)

The masters can also be made by hand. In fact, 3D printers can only go so far, then you have to get the stereo microscope and hand tools out. There are several items in my Falcon build that I made a master so I could make several more exactly the same. None of those parts is very big.
