Possibly my new obsession...

I've replaced the spark plugs. Removed and cleaned the oil bath air cleaner (that's a fascinating piece of hardware) Fixed the stuck carburetor float, re-bent the gas line from the sediment bowl to the carb. These are gravity fed engines and somebody had an up hill bend in the line. The carb's main needle valve was turned way. Set it back to 2 turns out. I adjusted the timing. I suspect the old distributor is tired so I have a new one on the way. The one in it is a Prestolite, not original to the 1951 Ford.
The engine has smoothed out and doesn't backfire.
I think the tractor is ready to work, till something breaks.View attachment 181707
I'm getting my wife a shirt that says "I ride a Red Belly" 😉
