Pearl Harbor Day 2025

Just take a moment to remember Pearl Harbor attack 84 years ago. Reading over some of the headlines. We only have 12 survivors still with us. I was talking to some friends the other day that it's sobering to me to think we are at the point of the last World War 2 vets are leaving us.

Today, December the 7th, 1941, 84 years ago, the United States was deliberately attacked at Pearl Harbor. I won't bother quoting FDR's entire proclamation. We traditionally attend the anniversary ceremony in our capital city, but this day, I feel disinclined to make my lil' Sweetie stand in the freezing temps to observe this most reverent anniversary. If I insisted, she most certainly would.
We will honor our fallen American brethren in a cozier way.

At very least, I will be making her watch "Tora, Tora, Tora!" with me again today.

God rest you, men. Thanks to our men and women in uniform for your sacrifices and our liberty, this and every day.

Ha! I was just thinking, this is one reason I miss the "cable" TV, get Turner Classic Movie and their Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Pearl Harbor day movie line ups.
Their 4th of July stuff not so much, not into musicals.

I have Tora Tora Tora on DVD but no way to play it! Just rented it again.

Another movie I've watched in the past, it's period propaganda for sure but it's got some great film of sharkfin B17s. "Air Force"

Just finished our screening. Cindy was like "Where are our airplanes!"

Were there no photos or film from or of Enterprise when she returned to Pearl Harbor on the 8th? Google not coming up with much specifics.
