LOL , thanks Greg , I've covered that in the past , it's actually very , very easy and if you lay to much paint down , either metal or red primer you can correct it by respraying either till it's just right .
I start by spraying everything with Glidden Max Flex [ rattle can ] Shining Armor [ Home Depot ] .
Then I stand way back and spray [ in this case ] Rustoleum red/brown primer so it gives a stipple effect over the shining armor .
Too much primer , give it a mist of more armor or vice versa .
Shining Armor with a tad heavier spray of primer and some other rust colors added as a wash .

Almost forgot , Glidden Max Flex rattle can spray paints are highly , highly recommended .
Ya gotta shake the hell outta them for a real good spell but they spray like air brushses .
They also dry to touch in less then a minute and I've painted/washed over them with acrylics in just as little time .
Downside , no olive greens , they do have pastel earth colors tho and most of what I've built on this never ending project has Max Flex paints as the base colors .

Are you able to make the photo 'weight' smaller? The size of the actual image is great but a web freindly weight of say 600kb would mean I don't have to weight 10 minutes for the page to load. 
Just save them as a web jpeg and pick the size.....please

Ian , it's been said in the past , seems like outside of the U.S. some folks have to wait forever for images to load on my posts .Are you able to make the photo 'weight' smaller? I have no problem when I look at my posts , I mean it doesn't load as fast as I would do a shot of Jack Danials but it's not slow .
I use Imgur as my photo host and there are a few copy/post options .
I am soooo not computer savvy on resizing and such but here are some different options from Imgur .
I have no idea what's gonna happen when I press post reply .

Well , whatever I did it loaded instantly like the way I've been doing it , no difference in loading time , it just popped right up .
I don't know what to tell you , when I dowmload the photos from my camera I resize them 50% smaller than the original .
Looks like two options didn't even take .............

As to photo size, I take the high res photos then edit them.
I crop part off to "zoom" in on details I want to show, then resize the photo to no bigger than 1280x980, or 1280 of the widest dimension. Then I will play with brightness and contrast a little to "highlight" the photo and make detail "POP".
The resizing to 1280 usually makes the photo file size about 300k more or less. A little photo work can make for a much nicer thread where you have a definite show going.
It also can save Bob (moon puppy) a lot of disc space

@Brokeneagle not much we can do with this. Glenn uses the imgr website and that's what he is used to. Don't know why that site would be slow for you, maybe they do not have the global presence as others.
