North American T-6 Texan in the African Wars

Zotz has done it again and is coming out with a set of decals for the new T-6 Texan in 1/32. They look very cool and I cant help but think a toothy friend may have had some input into their research.

Katanga... hard to tell from these photographs:

However, from 1960-1963, Katanga was a breakaway state from the newly formed Republic of Congo-Léopoldville. The cross is based on their flag:

Red is what I suggested as the ACIG profile may have been using a faded color (either paint on the aircraft or print) photograph.

Here is a good link to read about these ex-Belgian aircraft.

As to the one with 'funky camouflage, it is Biafran:
