Not saying it isn't possible, but would definitely need to be printed in resin to make it work for that. FDM just wont do it.

It's finished. Cranes move/slide. I showed it to my father today and he started talking about all the old stories. Therein lies the "treasure" of a model ship for a Vet. The stories! Navy guys will remember things they've never told anyone about before, while gazing at a miniature of their ship. Bravo, Sir!!

Looks like it turned out quite well! Once you get the paint, rust and weathering on it, the finished build will probably jog all those stories out again to open air.

Does anyone have information on the missile hatch covers? Are they grey and yellow? Looking for more info because my dad can't remember. I have a simple grey yellow stack, but would like to be more accurate. There is no information on interwebs because of classified I'm also doing the Polaris for each silo

Yep! That's the missile deck.
The missiles were loaded in sealed capsules. The guys I know called them "Cartridges". Hoisted from tender to the Boat, few crewmen on either vessel knew if there was an actual missile being loaded or not, so neither did the agents of our enemies.
I'm also told that tenders did not have launch authority or circuitry. (Sure.)
Much of who-knew-what-when may well still be classified.
