I hope for a 1/700 waterline scale Waterline version of your excellent design or 11.04 scale inches LOA.
What are the chances of that, do you imagine?

Not saying it isn't possible, but would definitely need to be printed in resin to make it work for that. FDM just wont do it.

Yessir! The FDM texture is the bane of waterline model makers.

It's finished. Cranes move/slide. I showed it to my father today and he started talking about all the old stories. Therein lies the "treasure" of a model ship for a Vet. The stories! Navy guys will remember things they've never told anyone about before, while gazing at a miniature of their ship. Bravo, Sir!!

Looks like it turned out quite well! Once you get the paint, rust and weathering on it, the finished build will probably jog all those stories out again to open air.
