Stones are plaster of paris over matte board. I can start to scribe in the stones when it firms up a little and I keep going when it's dry. Cheap. Easy. The beams are bass wood stained with valajo medium grey and then washed with saddle color then accented with dark brown and dark grey.
All my usual low tech stuff.

Would like to help you,Jerry.Alas I don't have them anymore.
You could do a google image search on famous touristic Eifel towns like;BAD MÜNSTEREIFEL or MONSCHAU.
