Two new announcements from the Tokyo Hobby Show last week, a new tool A-20B/C and a new version of their B-25, a PBJ-1J.

Just my luck! Only took them 13 years!

Hopefully it won't take that long to come to market here in the U.S.

@Paulw, this was in reference to what usually happens to my projects when heavy conversions are made for an accurate kit, such as my Airfix Spitfire Mk Vb to Vc. Eduard released the Vc. 13 years ago, I started the A-20 Havos (four but I only posted two builds). One of the builds is an A-20B, so this kit may make my older kit irrelevant if I get the KH models release.

Other than it is from the 47th BG, I don't have much else.

An A-20B from the 47th Bomb Group. The painted over canopy indicates it might be a gunship with more 50 cals added to the nose.

A cool thing about the B model is that it had rearward firing nacelle guns too!

This one is an A-20C with four added guns:

That is a VERY nice A-26 Invader with the six gun nose. I only have one kit with the Meteor Productions 8 gun nose for this scheme:

It is a large kit so may settle for smaller kits to add these schemes too:

Rear firing guns? Unaimed?
The M2 .30 cal guns were added to the nacelles on the DB-7A/Havoc II to cover the dead zone behind the tail. They could be adjusted on the ground between -1 degree to +2 degrees vertically and from parallel to 100 yards convergence aft of the tail. The gunner could fire them using a foot pedal when using the upper gun position or a hand switch when using the lower position. During testing they were found to be of little value and were rarely installed. The installation was deleted on the A-20C/Boston III/Boston IIIA.

Rear firing guns? Unaimed?
Most people are unaware that early Havocs (which include the first 250 A-20G-1 models) had a control stick, throttle, and rudder pedals in the rear. The firing button for these was on one of the steps in the gunner's well.

Basic controls, stick, rudders seen here:

Upper arrow points to rear throttle and lower the steps on which the firing button would be on:

While getting more information on the A-20B, I looked at several Missing Air Crew Reports (MACRs) and this one struck me due to its armament, four fixed 50Cal (possible nose), one Flex 50 Cal (lower ventral), two fixed 30 Cal (upper ventral), one fixed 30Cal (WHERE?! Only one nacelle gun?) :bm:

This one is heavy duty... Six fixed 50 Cals (nose and cheeks), one flexible 50 Cal, upper or lower, one flex 30 Cal, upper or lower, and two fixed 30 Cals (nacelles):

This one is clearer about the nacelles:

Okay, enough of a lesson before @jeaton01 gets an urge to build another!

I hope that HK Models keep the series up with all the old favorites, including the H (since the early models are still available from Academy/Accurate Miniatures) , I truly hope to see the ugly F-10 recon version as I have a scheme ready!
