Hey Tony,
This has been an interesting thread! Seems there are two dynamics at work. You are a damned good modeler to begin with, and Giovanni, aside from being a great figure painter, apparently is also a good teacher. As I go from page to page, I can see continuous improvement within such a very short period of time. That isn't the norm.
All I can say is, for a beginner, your figures are unusually good. Certainly better than my memory of my beginner figures!
