My Kid - Chasing his Dreams

Ok so this is really just a a brag/FYI post, be forewarned

So my son (well, really steps-on, but he is still my kid) is chasing his dream of being a Marine Biologist. He is @ University of South Florida in Tampa. Part of his scholarship is working for the state of FL taking samples throughout the state. Here is a pic of the students. Unsurprisingly, he is the kid with the long hair, middle-left in the pic. Also unsurprisingly, he is right amongst the more attractive members of the crew!

here is a link to what he is doing, FWIW

I just noticed that Dreams is plural... so, aside from Marine Biologist, he is chasing?
:P

Regards,

I originally went to school for marine zoology, but chemistry = math and all that did me in. Good for your boy!

This is right up my alley!

Congrats to him! It's a tough field to make a career out of! The only work I've done off Florida has been a shark research cruise with NMFS out of Jacksonville. Did a stint on Bimini off Miami after my undergrad!

I hope he does well and enjoys it!

You are right about the career stuff. I think it is so bad (how bad is it?....) I hear that many quite to becomce actors...and get a raise for their efforts!
