News coming through here that the battle of Britain memorial flight Spitfire MK366 has crashed at RAF Coningsby., pilot killed

The RAF still operate 6 spitfires as a memorial to the pilot in the war

Hope nobody says that he died doing what he loves. I hate that expression. The last few moments were sheer terror. RIP indeed. Hopefully the aircraft came be recovered and rebuilt. Gary S.

It looks like he nearly got away with it but its flipped upside down. Nose looks undamaged so i would guess it came in fairly level
Its only a few 100 yard's outside RAF Coningsby perimeter fence.
