Micro-Mir

Master at Arms
Has anyone heard of or built anything from Micro-Mir?

I just heard about them yesterday. They have some interesting kits at Hobbyterra and I ordered a Yak UT-1 Hydro from them (can't resist a new obscure floater).

I haven't heard of them but I'm waiting for Saul to let us know that he's been consulting with them for years...:rotf

Well when you get it in Warren, open'er up and let's have a look! :popcorn

Well, here she is, just arrived today! This is what you get for $29 bucks!

It comes in a small, flimsy open top box with some good artwork on it. The box has English, German and Czech languages on it.

Open the box and you find everything in a small ziploc style bag.

Once you get everything out of that bag you have 5 sprues, instructions in English and Czech, 1 small decal sheet, 1 photoetch fret from Eduard and a film for the instrument panel.

wings

floats

interior parts, wheel spats and landing gear, skies, guns, etc..

engine parts

body, prop and seat

pE and film

instructions

body close up

Decals

It seems to be quite a detailed little model and reminds me of a Special Hobby Kit. The plastic is firm and strong, molded in a light grey and has some good detail and engraved panel lines. There is zero flash on the sprues too. There is a total of 89 parts (excluding the PE) and only 60 of those parts will be used for the float version. The instructions seem clear and concise. It's quite detailed with 32 parts making up the 5 cyl radial engine alone. There is only 1 option to build a red aircraft with a red and white stripped tail and a white 4 on the fuselage. I' don't know who made the decals but they look really good and seem to be in good register.

This won't be a problem for display, wingspan measures 6" and the length should be around 5".

Anyway, it looks to be a good little kit. It comes in two other versions as well, a light attack version and a training version.
