Have been busy with yard stuff and other things the last few.... I finally have been able to get back to this so I can do the machine guns on the sides. The barrels on them are like something from a 60's Aurora kit. Yuck! Besides I like the way the brass barrels look after doing blackening on them. Can't match it with paint.
Have done a few small quick things over the last couple of weeks. Added the inner hubs on the wheels, and some antennas made out of steel wire.
Tomorrow I plan on making the barrels. Not sure how long it will take. Depends on how many times I screw up as these will be done by hand. While I have lots of practice, it is still difficult to get the lengths right. Diameters, not so much as I have some tricks to get it close then measure my way in. The metric dimensions are more accurate and give smaller measurements versus the inch dimensions. I can work with either as I work with metric all the time working on watches. Hopefully it will go quick and smooth. I am almost done with this little beastie, and I am fairly pleased with how it is turning out.

Doing some finish up. I was going to use some nylon thread (really fine stuff) for the radio wire, but could not get the stuff to bond.
Then I looked in my "wire" box and have some finer white wire from a defunct USB charging cable shielding. That should do perfectly and I won't have to paint it.
As to the blackening on the machined guns, I had some weird stuff happen. The Uschi blackening works quite well, and have had not trouble with it. Place the parts in a small container of the fluid and let them sit. They turn a velvety black when ready. I take them out and wipe them on a paper towel. The velvety black came off like normal leaving a steel colored finish. ?
? That has never happened before, but then I have used the Master Model parts. Different alloy I guess. Here was the weird part, my nose has an oily complexion and wiped my finger on it then rubbed the part between my fingers and it turned a perfect blue/black. Odd, but it worked.
The build is almost done so photos will be probably tomorrow.

Hope you guys like it. It was not that great a kit. There were way too many fit and other issues. Makes me really kind of question if Fine Molds kits are really all that fine.

Yeah, it had some issues and I just couldn't get all that excited about it after a certain point. It was a bit of a slog, but I was determined to at least finish it. I guess it could still apply to the twins campaign. Was there ever a badge done for that?
Anyway, she's singing, it's done.

I did finish it at least, but it doesn't qualify for the MMM. Is there a ribbon for the Twins campaign? I was working on the Ju88, but it is going to be quite a while yet. quite a number of things I want to do to it and that will be a while.Two months late but ok! Nice job Paul, worth the wait.
