Sherman 18
Master at Arms
Well, I have not been just sitting and watching TV, I have been working a couple of projects and this is one of them. A kit bash for a M50. I'm using the Academy M51 hull, Tamiya turret and parts from MP turret. I thought this would be easy. Slap the MP turret on the Academy hull and call it good.
A shot of what I'm after on this one
MP turret
Tamiya turret
I hacked off the back of the Tamiya turret and added the cheek armor with sheet styrene
I cut off the counter weight from the MP turret and then lengthened it with some styrene
I cut off the gun trunnion from the MP turret and thickened it with some styrene
I thickened the mantlet with sheet styrene
test fit of the counter weight
I was still a little off on the length and had to add some more styrene
I adjusted the rear of the hull and added the welds, plus some casting texture
I going to try to back date the engine deck to a 1967 version. I'm scratching the rear half of the deck
