M26 Dragon Wagon and M4 Sherman (many images)

mike walsh

Master at Arms
Hi,

Here is the Tamiya Dragon Wagon M26 with as much etch I could find in 2003
I had limited references back then but some helpfull books from Ross aka(Mulligan) helped me complete this huge build.
Built and completed in 2003
9 months and about 1 month weathering and chipping .
Still play around with chipping effects today .
The last thing to complete was the mission model 50cal rounds .

I hope you like the images

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic work -

Moon Puppy is right not enough pictures!

What photo ectch kit did you use?

Did you also do the air lines on the trailer? I think you would have - got some photos of the trailer before putting the Sherman on?

The resin mg ammo storage is that home grown?

I would love to see more photos of the truck chassis.

The Sherman looks nice too - great work - thanks for posting!

Wow,
I've got the old Peerless Max Dragon Wagon sitting out in my garage.
I guess after seeing this one, "That one will never see the light of day"
:notworthy (y) :notworthy (y) :notworthy

It took quite a while to take all that in but BOY, was it worth it! I even ignored the supper call! (and if you knew me personally, you'd know that rarely happens!)

Regards,

Well Mike , I sat looking in awe of these pictures with Richie and could not find the words to post ! :eek:hmy:

Have you ever entered this in a model Competition and NOT won ?

The level of detail on every inch of this model is amazing !!!

You know I would love to see you do the Famo with trailer with maybe a Stug III on the back for you to "book end" your showcase ;) , ( Hell I will even start a collection to buy you the kit ;) )

Just a inspiration Mike and thanks for posting ( we would love some more piccis too ;) )

Jenny

Ahhhhhh.
Ahhhhhhhh.

Olive Drab overdose ;)

That is fantastic work from front to back, top to bottom. There is just to much to look at. Maybe you could break it up into three or four segments and give us lots of detail shots of the cab, then the Sherman, then the trailer/winch, then the figgies :idonno . And is that the Verlinden interior in that Sherman? It looks great.

Gary B)

Magnificent work!!! The detail is superb. I can only dream that mine will come out that good [well, that is if I ever start it. lol] What did you use for the mud in the tires?

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

BTW, not enough pictures...
Bob ,
I'll do a part 2 Dragon wagon image spread

Terry
No problems with using the pics as reference .

Sherman 18
What photo ectch kit did you use?
Royal model etch
Eduard etch ,multiple sets ,Interior, exterior and trailer
Aber etch on the sherman

Did you also do the air lines on the trailer?
I used what reference I had and winged it with the air lines, its the kit tubing

The resin mg ammo storage is that home grown?
The resin mg storage is in the Royal model set

I would love to see more photos of the truck chassis.
As completed photos I'll get more done but thats it for before painting

Have you ever entered this in a model Competition and NOT won ?
Jenny,
Went to Euro in 2003 did get a look in :( went to QMHE a year or so later and did not get judged :(

And is that the Verlinden interior in that Sherman? It looks great.
Gary ,
Yes it's the VP interior ,very nicely sculptured.

What did you use for the mud in the tires?
Viper_mp

Its a mix of interior wall filler, acrylic paint ,black, brown, dark colours and some
railway scenics stuff mixed up.
Put into the tread wet and use a wet paintbrush around the tyre.
Each tyre was done seporately before going on the truck and trailer .

Michael :)

What more to be said that hasn't be said already by said individuals? :blink
She's a corker mate.
That said, What's this big flat hunk of timber it has driven over? Doesn't look like a cracking diorama scene to truly set this beauty off to me... ;)
Love it
Brad
