Haven't posted anything in that last few months, but have managed to get some building down during lunch hours at the office.
The first of three builds slowly inching their way to the Paint Bay is a Hasegawa 1/48 P-40N. It will in the markings of a 5 OTU Fighter Fighter Affiliation Flight Kittyhawk IV.
Eduard seatbelts were added, Ultracast exhausts and diamond tread covered wheels will be added. The RCAF markings will be liberated from the Eduard P-40N which will likely get the RNZAF markings when it's time comes.
Next on the line, a Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Vb with Fusion conversion for the DB605A-1 installed by the Daimler-Benz test facility and an Ultracast Spitfire seat. The earlier release of the Fusion kit included decals for the MesserSpit but are no longer included so will be sourced from the spares box.
Last on the production line is an Airfix 1/48 Seafire F.XVII of 741 NAS. The somewhat anemic scoop on the right side of the engine cowl was replaced with a scratch built piece. Eduard late pattern seat belts were added to the seat. Most of the fiddly bits seen in the last two pictures are on by their reputations for a quick photo-op.
Cheers,
Rich
