Logistics, The Figures Updated November 7th, 2014

Close up photography will always show way more flaws than we would ever see looking at the real thing in front of us. It is amazing to see the photos Bob and I am sure the full display will be stunning and something that a person will want to spend hours looking at. (there isn't a smiley that fits for "Absolutely Stunned")

Are those some uniform insignia decals from Alliance Modelworks on some of the shoulders Bob? They really look sharp! (y) :notworthy

Thank you!

Some of the shoulder patches are Archers dry transfers and the rest, which I didn't have are hand painted. I couldn't find a SHAEF, (Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces), patch anywhere, so, fortunately, when I was in Europe from 1959 to 1962, my unit served in that organization, so I had a one to one scale to copy!

I haven't been posting for awhile simply because I haven't been modeling for awhile. Nothing bad, just, for some reason, I have been really busy for several months. Today, I'm headed for the bench to pick up where i left off the end of last year. Hope to get something posted within the next two weeks!

I had to Google that thing the other day, b/c I had no clue what it was. What I found says it relates to antenna design & calculating impedance & such. Stuff way over my head.

Thanks guys, here's an update, finally!

OK, finally started back to work!

I had bought 11 figure sets as I had some new ideas to create additional drama. Here are the 11 sets. These figure sets from MasterBox and MiniArt are excellent in that they can easily be modified and posed. I spent a good deal of time looking at the sets available to get figures that I would have to do the least posing for what I wanted to portray.

One of the ideas I had was; There are several high ranking officers, generals, colonels, aids, etc. standing by the Jeeps and staff car immediately behind Patton, studying maps on the hood of a Jeep. I thought it would be a nice touch to add a couple of British generals. The news crews and camera men are American, British and Commonwealth, so, why not? Then a German General and his aide being questioned by the generals. An American Lieutenant is guarding them. Here are the two Brits, the German general, his aide (In soft cap), and their American guard.

Then, there is a small alley that can only be seen from the rear of the diorama. I thought G.I.s capturing some German soldiers hidden in the alley would work, so I made an Airborne sergeant holding the surrendering Germans at bay with a rifle after wounding one of them. An American medic seeing to the prisoner's wounds and an American officer radioing for help from the unit across the street.

Then a radio operator/sergeant MP, with the staff officers receiving the call for help and dispatching 5 soldiers to the alley to assist. They would be running across the street between and through the refugees, running as fast as they could, even one losing his helmet.

Then I had several German POWs built to go into the back of an American truck being driven to the rear lines. However, there weren't enough to fill the truck so I built two more and a German Medic looking after them.

I have more than a hundred refugees and about 60 German civilians, but when I saw this set of females, I thought what the hell, the more the merrier.

Finally, here are all the new ones together.

And finally an old man and his bicycle who will become a refugee and an old German woman and her bike.

Now to start painting these puppies.

I guess this is a VERY crowded project, did you ever do a project with so many figures?
I've seen several of your dio projects also very crowded, but this one...DANG!

The bicycles are a nice touch also, with the Photo Etch details the manufactors can do these days.

Still following this one with great attention,Bob! (y) :popcorn

Gr,Ron.

The Winds of War had 300, Legacies had 225, Cocoon had 200, but this, with about 360-370 is the most. Well, Logistics is the name, so it will be the busiest by far. It will have 8 bicycles altogether, as a comparable area in Germany, 1945 would have had at least that many.

I appreciate your interest Ron. How's it going in the low countries? Good weather?
