Logistics, Base & Buildings. Updated Feb. 5, 2018

The things you are teaching us about your museums and the problems with dust and the damage it causes. I don't have any kits in my sleeping area which is the worst dust area in my house. My hobby room is almost dust free. I never seem to find any dust on my work tables. (This is a good thing, right?)

I definitely will be looking forward to the next visit!

Paul, That is a great thing. A lot of it depends on where you live! I live in a subdivision surrounded by farms. Susan can dust the living room and five minutes later you can write in the dust where she just dusted. On the other hand, our basement is relatively dust free, I'm guessing because there is little traffic there.

I would guess there are as many places with heavy dust, (Farms create a huge amount of dust) or you might live next to a quarry! However, I've been told by people who should know that cumulative dust destroys paint on just about anything and that it can actually eat away at some types of adhesives. I'm not taking any chances as you have seen in the museum.

One thing I do know from personal experience. There was a period in the 1970s that I got into building those Revell sailing ships. I used beeswax on the thread rigging but over several years the dust rotted them even with the beeswax!

Wow, this is the first time I've seen all those vehicles all together like this. The pics didn't load for me previously and I never went back before this to see them. What a stunning and incredible amount of masterful work! This is so brilliant!

This is too cool Bob. Good thing you have a large room for these builds, impressive!

Cheers, Ski.

I am finally closing in on this thing I have been working on so long I can't remember when I wasn't. I placed the currently finished vehicles in approximately where they will be and discovered that, although I want it to be extremely busy, it is a bit too busy, so I am cutting back on a couple of trucks and trailers. I will also have to do some rearranging of the staff and staff cars. It's simply too crowded where they are clustered around the statue. You have to remember that the 435 figures will have to fit in this as well.

My original idea was to create a huge traffic jam in all directions with a tank column, a cargo truck column, hoards of refugees and their possessions in carts and carried by hand to the rear, and so on. I usually do this as I prefer to have too many vehicles than too few when i begin wrapping up.

Here are some photos with the vehicles placed in positions where they will likely go. As I said though, I'll be changing some things.

Kind of made me think of Steven Kings "The Langoliers". The set dressing is there and the people are just starting to appear.

Looking forward to the next viewing Bob! It looks GREAT!

Traditional " SuperDioramas " masterpiece .
This is the kind of Letterman quality and development that has inspired me for decades [ along with Lewis  ] and returned me to the modeling world so long ago .
I can look at your work for hours and it never gets old and it always pleases the eyes !!!

Thanks Paul!

I've seen the Langoliers. Good movie! Still awhile before the figures on the streets appear. Got a hell of a lot of painting to do!
