Here at the Salisbury IPMS show waiting on the results of judging. Thought I'd give a live report. Good turn out, crowded vendor section.

Now you tell us! :facepalm

Didn't see it, hit the Be Boop Burger joint in Spencer NC across the street from the NC Transportation Museum. Great place btw, enough to make a fella get back into railroading stuff. Chris and I, (Mike had to work :( )had a good time, got skunked at the show, neither of us walked away with any bragging rights. Competition was thick! over 40 entries in the 1:48 scale single engine props that I put the Thunderbolt in. Some really great models, I think those guys were saving up for a while.

And check out the Little Choo Choo Shop if you're ever in the neighborhood, nothing but rail related stuff but still got some supplies to play with.

Paul I did score a couple of kits, Tamiya buffalo with some goodies in the bag and an F-111 that I think I'll do for Gulf War build coming up. (I'm sure Chris will be along to :smack me about that purchase. :facepalm )

Long day, good time, I got to read those flyers more closely next time, they didn't start the awards till 5pm and I had 3 hour drive to get back. :frantic

And Dave, the offer of a years free subscript to the website is still out there if you want to sign up. Here's the Gotha with the Gaspatch turnbuckles I was telling you about.

And I would like to add as a bonus we ran into a car show at the museum .

Can't say I have ever run into so many nice restored autos at anyone time . Even when I was looking for them .

Got to see a good many I had never seen before and several I could not even identify .

Definitely a great day (y) (y) (y)

Cheers, Christian B)

Glad you guys had fun, but I am certain you didn't have as much fun as I had at work. NOT!

Hoping there are more show photos. :drinks

It was astonishing, and it didn't even place. :idonno

I think Clean was the scheme that took the prizes.

The theme of the show was steampunk/scifi but there wasn't a strong showing on there. I should have soldered some DC motor parts to a cap gun and brought it.

That's all the shots I have Mike, I did channel you a bit, I complained about the lighting. :rotf

Absolutely . Don't fool yourself in thinking all that came out of the box though .

There is a ton of aftermarket stuff with it . The catapult alone is worth way more that the plane that's on it and that is only the beginning .

A amazing display . The owner packed it up before the judging was finished and it was not even mentioned at the end.

Personally, I thought it should have take top awards at the meet :idonno :idonno I'm seriously confused as to what happened there.

A very high level of competition here but some classes only had 2 or three entries. Others were run over with entries .

Personally the sci-fi classes really mystified me.

Surely you don't expect me to believe that :rotf Hate it Mike but you missed a whopper :frantic :drool

On a sadder note, you could have picked the sprue you need and possibly the train things you were hopping for.
Great train hobby shop .

Cheers, Christian B)

Good eye Mike.

Is that the Iron Giant head on the Dragonwagon?

The Arado is unbelievable.

The Vosper is inspiring. I have that kit in the lineup to be RCed.

Excellent pics, thanks for sharing MP.

The catapult plane looks bloody amazing (Araldo ?)

and you say it didnt even get placed ? WOW :smack

So what got best of show then ?

Brigader you are 100℅ correct my friend . just looking at that arado its evident that slot of time and love went into that. It's still inspiring. I don't have any qualms about scratch building so do you know where I might find plans or line drawings of that catapult. I would love to do that. Any help is appreciated. Thank you 135engimeerco aka Chris.
