Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

I saw the 1/35th scale ICM CH-64 kit built last year, by a modeler I consider an expert, and NONE of this 3D aftermarket stuff is needed.
Every time you add an accessory or aftermarket detail, you add the possibility of flaws as well. Then too, we model to please ourselves, do we not?

I ordered this from the guy that I had bought my other Harder and Steenbeck airbrushes from. It came with some extra fancy attachments and such as well. Fun part is most of the part interchange on them so it is all good.

I am looking forward to being able to test this one out.

So true but in the case of Reskit, I know that their research and work was done in cooperation with ICM to incorporate details they couldn't add in their regular injection process. I guess they had too much information? :pilot

Possibly Bob. I only bought the ones that I thought would be interesting to build. I never speculated, though I figured that they would hold their value so no loss either if I didn't build them.

£135 is still a lot but then the new P51 from eduard (which probably wont fit together being Eduard) is £100 so maybe in terms of value for money a WnW for £135 is now good value. My WnW Bristol fighter is one of only a hand full of builds i have kept over the years and the DH4 will sit well along side.

Got a few things at the post office today. First up was a WNWs Junkers JI and some books on the Fokker DRI and F1 as well as the Dolphin. Then got my pre order from Airscale. I now have a Car door and a Bubble Top Tiffy.

Then my Decals from Star in Thailand finally arrived and from Poland a He 162-A1, FW 190D, Bf 109 G2/4 and a Dragon Panther D. All in all a good day.

Kinda model related, makes it easier for me to look up stuff in the shed. The old laptop out there is pushing 12 years old or more. It was retired when I liberated from the junk pile at work years ago. That laptop did the flip top and tablet mode so I figure get a tablet.

So far very pleased. Cindy was ok with it till I started all the remote control of the TV and such. :rotf

Ha i just bough a new TV and a new Dyson hot and cold blower......The off button on the TV switches the blower on so when i go to bed and turn the TV off i have to remember to switch the blower off as well :)

I went to Hobby Lobby a month too late to get the Vallejo paints on clearance but did pick up two of Hobby Lobby's Airbrush Acrylic Paint sets, Basic and Weathering. I REALLY should have bought the thinner, retarder, primers, and 'perhaps' the cleaner as the one ounce bottles are only $2USD each!.

No need to review as there are MANY online stating how good they are. $8 for ten 1oz bottles which, after thinning 1:1 for airbrushing means I pay only $0.40USD per ounce! One ounce bottles, including the thinner, are $2USD each. 8.45oz thinner is $4USD. This is the same price for the cleaner but you get 8.5 ounces. $7 for 8.45oz (there's that strange amount again) bottles of primer in black or light gray. Strangely enough, the one ounce primers include white.

Oops, need to retake the photos.

Also, I was contact by Metallic Models of Ukraine, they make some excellent details sets with 3D printed and photo-etched parts. Look at my AH-1G reviews of the ICM kits since I did provide images of them. Anyway, they are selling direct and not charging shipping. I found that unusual so I places and order and will let you know the details when it arrives. Let's say the price was VERY good, compared to what is available on eBay, and no shipping? They did offer to place the order on their website and they would refund the shipping costs but that included a little markup for the website overhead. Fingers crossed as I have a tracking number!
