Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Nice scores guys!

Me, I got a small pay so I ordered some decals I needed to finish my USS Albany, and picked up a couple extra models that were on deep sale:

This has two ships in here, one to make the Z-37 and the other the Z-39:

I've been wanting a Sherman with a dozer blade forever, and now I finally have one:

Time to get back to the bench, I have another tour to start.....

I never understand magnetic trays....why ? They used to be all the rage in motorcycle workshops but were actually a pain :) I have an electric pocket screwdriver which is great but its also magnetic and every time i use it and put it down the bench the world and his dog sticks to the bloody thing, Swarf, screws other drill bits, tweezers...lol

Not really an acquisition but adding more work space/storage in the shed. Measuring 8 foot run only to discover that my floor is not exactly level. So..do I level the shelves to the floor or true level! It's not that far off, need to hire someone to go under the shed and shim it up some.. Like everything else here in this old house, nothing plumb or square.

Sounds like my back and knees.....

I don't know the term for this type of brace but I'm having a hell of a time cutting 2 exactly the same way.

I want the leg out of the way. This is the same setup I have on my electro/mechanical bench on the other end of the shed.

Of course this will be all covered up with whatever in short order. It's the nature of flat surfaces in a hobby environment.
Ah but that's the point, there will also things that can't be discarded under the clutter on top. If I ever find a suitable "paint rack" and drawer system that I could mount under this type of bench. I'll extend this bench and trash the oversize drafting table that one one in the world has a need of anymore.

When you're hanging off scaffolding trying to align a component the magnetic trays are a god send. No more climbing down to pick up a nut or bolt if you can find it and climbing back up just for a tool to fall down. Great little devices in the right circumstances.

Well all common sense has left the building. Have ordered a 1/32 Hawker Typhoon Mk 1b and also some decals for it. Saul will love the decal choice.

and bugger. This decal is for a bubble top and the kit is a car door. Sigh.

@jknaus Don't feel bad James. I just did a BIG order from Andy's with 1/16th figures and some tank and jeep goodies and bundles. I justified it all as it isn't a new kit as such but support stuff for existing kits. Figured it would be wise to get the figures and such while he had them in stock rather than wait and poof they be gone.

Just follow my philosophy James. Do what ever you want :) ...I spent my life doing he right thing....but it was always other peoples right thing. Now i do what i think is the right thing which to make myself happy every day :vgood:
