Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Some of these Kotare kits really look great and have my interest. With the tariffs and shipping I am having to pass and see if Sprue Bros get any in stock as they do carry them.
Recently Eduard offered the Zvezda 1/48 Hind in Czech Alien livery and I would have loved to have obtained that one, but I believe that their post will not ship to the US these days so I didn't order it.

Another Dollar Tree purchase for only $1.25USD. So, what is special? I already had the fancy brand (Q-tips) but they all have paper sticks and this one has PLASTIC sticks!
:LOL: 🤣 😜:silly::bigrin:

So what? Well... I used to do this with the name brand until they switched to paper sticks:

Well truth be told I did pre order this last spring when it was announced. As to your question about the veracity of my resolution to cut back.......... Uh well you see its like this and um well you know um I have a firm grasp on my spending and SQUIRREL!
Sigh.
James

1 less than last year is still a cut back. :coolio2:

Quinta Studios quilting in 32nd (for the AH-1G early conversion) and 48th for the A-20 Havoc cockpits. Hopefully, I can replicate more quilting using lead foil as these were ridiculously expensive for the size.

Sometimes I watch a video and I order! I do trust Barbatos Rex. Glass files and buffers came in! Note, the loose ones (not in the plastic slip cases) have already been confiscated for testing on nails since it does clearly state "Nail Files" + "Nail Buffers" but one set has eight and the other ten.

almost embarrassed to say i bought another one of these MFH bikes.

This one is half pushbike :) but i console myself in that i get these things cheaper than anywhere else, they retail here in the UK at £480, discounted to £420 and i paid £290 :)

Ordered one of these from BNA - again, didn't realise that anyone had released a 1/16 late model N.
I have been hoping for one of these in 1/16...great surprise from Trumpeter!

So Ian is jumping on the 1/16th wagon eh? I have been enjoying the detail work on my 1/16th scale builds and have 2 more on pre-order with Andy. One is Das Werk and is the early 250 command car that Rommel had. The other is a model by Gecko models and is a Panzer Jager II (Pak 40 on a Panzer II) We will have to see how THAT one turns out.

I think the Trumpeter tanks have full interiors. Part of why they are so pricey. I think they have a Nashorn in 1/16th coming out soon and I might bite on that.

On my birthday while we were squirreled away due to the snow, I went down the Facebook Shorts rabbit hole (again) and ran across this. The more I looked the more it felt like a "REALLY GOOD TOOL"! The site has quite a number of nice if pricey tools and goodies, so I took a chance.
This showed up today.

I was beyond surprised at how easy and smooth these cutters clipped through the sprues from my 251 build. I have cut these with side cutters and there was always a fair amount of resistance. With these cutters, it is almost dangerous they cut so easily. O! M! G!

Definitely check out this tool site! If the other tools are as good as these, I am sure that there are some "NEEDFUL THINGS" to be found.

Where it shipped from is one of the things I checked first. It was located in so Cal and shipped from there. I have no use for anything being shipped from overseas anymore.
Of course most kits come from outside the US anymore, but I orderer from in country suppliers.
I looked around on the Gundam site last night (Dispae tools) and they also had the single blade cutters for about the same prices. Thus cost isn't a determining factor. The quality of these nippers is exceptional. Other than that, you can do and choose as you want.

Posties been!
Communication with this eBay seller is excellent! He advises buying 2 1/72 scale F7F Tigercat kits for the same freight costs and I could not refuse.
The new 1/72 scale Tigercat kits arrived, well packed and undamaged in just 25 calendar days from Poland. Quite acceptable!
Opening the box to peruse the intricate injection molded parts proves the kit quality to be excellent, and the price of a modern, mainstream Grumman F7F kit is a great value!
I understand Hannant's carries these models, but I ordered mine directly from the eBay seller in Poland.
It's a happy day!

Thanks to tariffs, fees, et cetera, I also look for US based sellers. I don't doubt the quality, just the price gouging.

No additional fees or tariffs were imposed. The whole purchase was close to $100.00. An extravagant model purchase for a part-time special needs school teacher.
I did have to meet the Postmistress outside to sign for them. The neighbor's dogs had her cornered in her pickup. :salute::lol:
