Thanks, Guys!

The LHS received 12 of the Do.17s and 12 Ju88's. I got the last one. I opened it and behold, no banana!

It really looks to be a lovely kit and the instructions are clear and seem straight forward.

That's cool, nice little building. I've always wanted to do a little scene with an old building like that. You can find them all over the place in various states of disrepair. I've mentioned to Mike and Chris a lot that building and weathering those buildings are great studies in all the techniques we can use.

Great point. (y) Regardless of your area of preference, This kind of thing can be a good "case study" for trying out various weathering techniques. Also without the self induced pressure to "get it right" on your latest build

The next piece of the CVW-11 puzzle arrived today. VS-29 Dragonfire decals. I just wish I could find a non-CAG version. Oh well, better than nothing. They are even from the Vinson, so this would've been 1998/9 timeframe.

Picked up a couple oils to try dabbling with for weathering in the near future. I'm not likely to use these on the Mirage, as I don't want to risk mucking it up until I have a chance to experiment.

I needed some better brushes, so I picked up these to try out. They felt alright, though not as nice as the Red Sable brushes...but they were also less than half the price. If I'm not happy with these I'll probably end up ponying up for the Sable. The brushes were the main reason for the excursion today...the oils were an afterthought as I was wandering around the art store.

You'll have fun with them. Get an old build you don't care much about and give it a go. Good practice before trying it for real.

Only the markings for this one interest me:

These six sizes formed a solder assortment for which I paid less than $7 USD sipped on eBay. I plan to use it for pipes & wires (maybe to solder too):

Saul I thought it was Weld on 3 we wanted, Weld on 4 looks like it takes longer to cure.

Saul I thought it was Weld on 3 we wanted, Weld on 4 looks like it takes longer to cure.

Since I am using it to make Liquid Sprue (for welds and filling certain gaps), I need Weld On 4. Weld On 3 would evaporate too quickly for this application. However, you are correct if you need super fast set.

Weld-On 3 is in my shopping cart for my next order as it is on sale (1 quart for $15.18 USD and free shipping if the order reaches $35 USD):
