Kubelwagen Type 155/1 Schneeraupe

While we are on the topic of oddball Kubelwagens, Meng is planning a summer release of a halftrack version.

It portrays one of several track and ski configurations tested on the sole prototype. The standard front wheels worked well on loose dirt and sand but in snow caused the nose to dig in. Fitting skis the the front wheels corrected the problem and various styles were tested. While it proved capable of tackling the toughest terrain it required extensive modifications to the base Kubelwagen and was very slow. As a result it was never put into production.

Cheers,

You know Chris, is some ways you are right.
BUT,
If they do some thing new, do it right, and do it for reasonable $$, I have no problem rewarding a manufacturer and their employees for doing a good job.
Has nothing to do with the garbage running their gommerment just like it has nothing to do with the corrupt swamp lurkers that are in our gommerment.

I somehow recall that a resin aftermarket set was available... Note that this is 3D printed parts for their kit so files are out there and I am sure the ones used aren't the first!

Yes, found it. Leadwarrior. They made (or make) it. Being from Russia, I don't buy their products for now. What I have bought in the past has been well researched and flawlessly executed. Click to see manual. Front skis aren't included but the front skid plate is... Not sure if Meng did.
EDIT - they did and it seems quite similar... same research or? Hmmm
