King Tiger Question

Hey guys I have a question regarding the "straight bits" (technical term) that are with the brackets that hold the tow cables....what is the correct color for these items.....and what the heck are they??? :hmmm

I am thinking that these are the cleaning rods for the main gun? I have looked at pics online and no real help there - I have seen them shown on models as being black, gray, and brown, so possibly steel/possibly wood....which is correct for a last series KT????

They are the rods for the cleaning rod. I think they were wood with a threaded metal end. I've seen kits with them in an unpainted metal or wood. I'm not sure if the metal version is correct or not.

Wood with brass fittings shows up in a lot of the references.

Agreed! I was going to give the wood grain a try on my King Tiger.
