Also to commemorate this The B.R.A.G. Boys ( Blue Ridge Armor Geeks) & I.P.M.S. Roanoke will be holding Their Annual D-Day Model Show & Build at the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, V.A. Father's Day weekend- June 17th. I've attended the last 2 years . It's a Great day in the Shadow of the Memorial. Vets will be on hand to speak to the patrons !!
This is an Awesome Memorial. With Life Size statues. The "beach" that you see here is made from aggregate taken from Omaha beach.

Here is a 100% exact replica of the Statue from ( forgive My ignorance - I've forgotten the Town this real statue is in) Once the townspeople heard that the Memorial was being erected, They took down the original statue & Recast it for this Memorial in Bedford !!
