Having seen the James Dietz artwork "The Color Guard", I decided to try and replicate it in dio form. I started by picking up the Wingnut Wings Green Tail Trilogy kit. Wondering how hard it would be to find 1/32nd scale era cars I searched eBay and found they were plenty from a company called Pyro. Figures are a variety of Blackdog Miniatures, Aviattic and Copper State Models. Majority of groundwork is SilFlor, Mark Welberg and Woodland Scenics products. Accessories are many Miniart pieces. I also used some HGW products to detail the cockpits and the Albatross engines are from True Details. Cottage is scratchbuilt with foam board and cork. Tree is a dried out small bush, sealed with Mark Welberg products used for the branches/leaves. Vallejo, Tamiya and Ghost tints were used throughout. Thanks for looking!

Inspiring. It makes me want to undertake a small dio...though I know all I'd do is make a right mess of it.

Wow, what a great WW1 dio. You have gone that extra mile on the detail and the scene that really makes this so Unique. :tens::cool:.
The balance and the levelof detail is perfect. What a great idea:vgood:.

Thank you Ian. Appreciate that. It tested my patience at times but in the end, I am very satisfied with the results.

I agree, that was at least in the top three best shows I ever attended! It is nice seeing that diorama again in person.

I was going to say that I saw it at the 'Nooga Nats but Bob (Moon Pup) already let that cat out of the bag. I saw the dio there and thought it was very well done!
