IPMS Thin Air Nationals in Loveland CO

Wow what a turn out. 750 Modelers, and over 2500 models on the table. I have been to a National event since 1995, not sure if times had changed so much or this was a good location for some mighty fine built models. I do not remember so many subjects just leaving me so inspired. I really don't want to get into the judging part as I did not bring anything I felt was up to "National Contest" standards (I can do better work). I went to my first awards banquet, which I really enjoyed. I was about 50% on picking the winners while I eyed the models. One thing was for sure I'm glad I was not a judge as some of the classes had to be really tight. Another thing I have to remember is some of the subjects I have a strong interest in so they pull at you, and I did not get a judges look at them. You know there should be an award for "Your Insane" I could have handed out ten of those at least.

So here we go.

As seen through my eyes. My flash on the camera washes things out so I stopped using it, some pictures are pretty dark.

That would have been my guess as well,Dan.

After a snow or rain shower it would soon disappear.
I did hear about bed sheets as improvised winter camo,but newspapers is something new for me.

Wondering if this model was done after seeing a picture of the real thing.
But it looks great non the less.

If you read the part of the entry sheet that is showing, you can see he did it from a picture he saw. I could not read enough of it though to know what the back story is.

Thanks for the comments on my Dora as well. That would have looked mighty funny under your shirt! Might have hurt a bit too! "Is that a Dora under your shirt, or are you just glad to see me?"

My friend and traveling partner Joe LoMusio brought in that Neiuport collection. He built that himself. BTW, all the 1/72 scale armor in front of his display is also mine.
