No new kits.
But that doesn't mean gear. :yipee
The hobby money has to go somewhere, otherwise it'll disappear, right? :hmmm
Last week I picked up one of those Proxxon mini table saws and it's amazing. I'm tempted to buy their mill based on how good the saw is working out. I'll do a full review on it, I just wanted to put it through it's paces first and it's doing everything I ask and then some. Right out of the box, without any calibration I cut eight 45s in scrap balsa and it slid together into a perfect square. I was a professional framer for a few years and spent more than my share of time calibrating very expensive saws to do what this thing did with my eye OOB.
Second up, thanks the good Doctor and his gingerbread thread relighting the kindling under my 3D printer bonfire, I ordered one. After too many hours of research I settled on a kit (two HS students heading towards engineering degrees in the house). I found a small company in the States that has Prusa designs with a lot of support and available parts, so I pulled the trigger on a Rep Rap. We'll see next week. I'm half half excited, half terrified and completely sure it'll take up way too much of my time. :frantic
And now onto the (almost)in the title. After placing a huge K&S order, I was a small kit price away from getting free shipping and $10 off, so I had no choice but to add a Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea Seaview. It was practically free and I was toying with RCing it, but I think as punishment, I'll just go ahead and build it right away. You know, to discourage me from doing it again. :facepalm
