Holy Water

Looks great! Foamcore can be found at art supply and framing stores, craft shops- that kind of place. Cheers, Shawn!

M/P - Not true, It's much easier if I don't break them although I do like to add damage.
Andy - It's paper, Styrofoam and paper. Walmart has it, the dollar store carries it. I
have a ton from when I worked at the High School, the Teachers used to throw it away when
the students were done with their projects... I'm just like that you know.
Chukw, Thanks for helping out.
Shawn

SHAWN ,

Great Idea with th Foam core !! I have some Cobblestone from KanCali. If I have enough I'll use that. If Not I'll borrow your technique with th Foam Core ! Do you think it'll hold th Weight of a Tiger I

Erik,
I'm sure that it will hold the Tiger I no problem... I've had SU-152's on it and it holds
up just fine. (y) :D
Andy, You can peel off a layer, if you want the bricks to be worn (I've done that before).
But if you do, you HAVE TO use acrylic paints as the others will eat the foam core material.
I just use a straight edged metal ruler and the back side of a razor blade to scribe the bricks.
I should have someone take a photo, while I'm doing it. It doesn't take very long and looks
really great (or at least I think so), plus it is really light and keeps the weight down
on your diorama.

Well last night I went to Fred's (where we model as a group on Friday night).
I managed to give the concrete a flat white coat of paint.
Then hand brushed the bricks with an acrylic red.
Next I will black wash everything on the base and start to weather it when
I have the jeeps and figures ready.

SHAWN,

Cool Start !! I like those Cobbles !! I might have to borrow that Idea , if I don't have enough of this Cobble from KanCali . They make Latex Cobblestone roads & SIdewalks. - http://www.kancali.com/militarymodelinghome.html

I Dig your cobblestone road method , but I have this stuff laying around & might use it !! It's cool stuff.

I'm lookin forward to seein' your Stuff !!

Erik,
Save that base for either a "Quick Base" which is what I call a generic base that you can
throw together to view/photograph models on. And blast out one of these foam core board
bases (in a day)... And foam core board is cheap... You can even sometimes get it at the
Dollar Store. Sounds like you don't want to try and match that base with foam core board
if it's going to be bigger than what you need for this dio.
I've seen those KanCali and they are beautiful.
Here is a link to my photo bucket where I did some Generic buildings out of foam core board
and or Styrofoam.
I did some how to's on Generic buildings, and Generic quick bases. I will have to check if
it was on this or the older version of this site and post them again.
But like I said, they KanCali stuff is really sweet and I'd save it. The foam core one
can be made to order (and done for generic stuff).
Do what you want, either way, I'm sure it will be sweet.

Here is a generic base with the Tamiya scalloped base material
