HO scale to On30 logging Loco Conversion

Thanks for your interest .....

I just found out I have a You-Tube account so I'll see about making a video ..... this 1st one wouldn't have lights on the loco yet ..... Just the sound ......

Sure takes a long time to upload ..... I'm doing my Rail trip right now ...... :good:

Generally upload speeds are not nearly as good as download. Hats off to you doing all that wiring, looks complicated.

Thanks MP ...... complicated wiring ani't all .... last night I was checking my job and I had wired the right hand rail pick-up to the motor instead of the decoder ..... She just won't work that way ..... I'll see about making a video of the loco after I program it for the right whistles and such .... to wit .... This chip has a thing called "Fireman Fred" He will shovel coal & since this is a wood burner ..... I'll have to mute that feature ......

I hope ya'll enjoy my riding the rails of North Texas Video .....

Cheers ..... Gerry

Yep I'm a Big Geek at least bigger than that train ...... but it has more power than me as I couldn't .......... hold it back it has more tractive effort than Me ....... The Sound chip worked ........... a little engine runs a bit than stops runs - stops ........ no sound ...... Soundtraxx Tech support is closed until Monday so I'm stuck waiting on the clock ...... as I can't do anymore until then ...... Maybe I could finish painting the innards oft he loco & the roof ....... I'm very disappointed ......

You'll get it sorted out, doesn't sound like it would be that big an issue, maybe a bad solder joint or something. But please do paint it up and let's see that! :popcorn

Hahahahahahaha That video just proves what I have said all along we are not all only geeks but Big KIDS refusing to grow up Love it Gerry :drinks

Well I've been real busy ..... with all the stuff going on ...... so I just talked to Soundtraxx and guess what ??? TST(Train Sound Tech) .... ... said it's a problem with the wheel pick-ups .... I may have to circumvent the place where I soldered the decoder pick-up to the back-side of the wheel as this goes though several places, that could cause a power interruption .... before it gets to the decoder ...... Kewl huh .... Next time I'm just gonna ask you where the trouble lies ..... Heres a photo of the chip very tiny Micro electronics & very sensitive to power troubles ....

Good thing I'm a Carpenter ...... The Zen's Helped I'll work on the troubles (See MP quote) & continue with the painting ..... :good:
