Hmmm, i dont like this

This chrome cover doesnt stand scrutiny from anywhere less than 3ft away My options are limited really, its just too bigger surface for chrome paints. Its also not durable. I find chrome paints work quite well on smaller parts where the surface is not big enough to reflect images, just light.
The real cover would have been pressed tin plate sp polished alloy would be quite wrong, its probably going to be black or the body colour TBH.. I may need to try both and see what works.

I think the Chrome look is a modern restoration thing, i cant find an original with chrome. Probably not much of a thing in 1937. The bling Harleys came along in the 1960's i think

Barbatos Rex loves chrome paint and has tested most of them.

I agree, don't think it would have been chrome. No expert but considering the times. Shiny and flashy wasn't a thing.

I dont think Fusion Chrome is available in the UK. i seem to remember looking for it before. If i can find out exactly what it is then i am sure other manufacturers will market it under their own brand,

today i decided to go with the kit decals

its obviously not correct but its a nod towards a current theme from Harley

I did have a choice of Star or Star with the circle round it and thought the one with the circle was more interesting. I'm sure someone here will explain the difference in design ?

also last night i started cutting the plastic fittings off the plastic oil lines and remade the lines in 1mm alloy tube and carefully driller a 1mm hole in each fitting and refitted using CA. Its probably no different from just spraying the kit lines silver but its fun to do and thats what its all about

I think the only significance between the two insignias is less paint used. Looks great!
