Greetings from the Plains

Greetings all! I was told I needed to take a minute to introduce myself to the forum. I'm Travis Gehling (Shawn's son), currently a senior attending Auburn University in Alabama. Ive spent the last 8.5 years bouncing around the globe in the US Navy as a glorified Google Earth Specialist. I've been building off and on for about 20 years, and have gone through most of the phases starting with aircraft (mainly in spite of my father) and ultimately finding common ground with other hobbies in the form of table top gaming (mostly historic). That focus has mainly been figures but over the last few years has expanded to the 1:100/1:144 scale game "Flames of War." So in bringing this short novel to a close, I would like to throw out a quick hello to everyone, I am already super impressed with the work displayed here, and hope to be able to utilize some of techniques discussed in my "squint scale."

War Eagle!

Travis

Welcome to T-N-T O Son of Shawn! Done some gaming myself. I look forward to seeing your work.

G'day Travis  ,

Well if you are Shawns son , you are already a part of the TnT family , we are glad to have another family member of one of our most popular members on board .

Now all I have to do is the subliminal hypnosis to get you into 1/35th scale modelling  . You know what the song says "Yvan eht nioj !"

 Hmmmmmm Maybe I should go on a cruise

Jenny

Travis.
Welcome aboard... Took you long enough... Just cause you are studying
at school is no reason to lurk in the shadows... I thought I taught
you better than that (except when you are working) :eek:hmy: ;)

Don't let him snow you, he surpassed my modeling abilities when he
was six and had his 1st model put on display at the air and space
museum in San Diego... (Nice try Travis)

Jenny you thought the small scale stuff you guys did was tiny, wait
until you see what he's doing now? Subliminal messaging doesn't work
on us. :blink :pinch:

Moonpuppy, watch out he speaks fluent German. Laura and Johnny jump
right in on him.

Andy, he did enjoy Perth when he was down under, so you and Jenny and
all the Tnt'ers down under can gang up on him too.  :woohoo:

Enjoy the group. I know that you will.
Shawn (Aka Dad) in this case.

Welcome Travis. Its a great place to hang out and be among friends. Look forward to seeing your stuff.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! As per my father's warning, I will snap some shots here and there of projects that I have on the bench. Sadly, the table sized project is on the back burner at the moment as the guys at the shop have requested that I get a Company of Brit Paras ready for this weekend... tough order to fill, but I am diligently procrastinating away!

Sorry Dad, Few corrections needed there. I will admit to speaking enough German to get someone else beaten up in a bar... as for fluent, my grammar sucks way too much to claim that, as for time spent down under, we were fortunate enough to pull into BRISBANE, not Perth, so I got to hit up the Gold Coast... And really can't wait to go back!

Figured that I needed to clear that up before I got thrown under the bus.

WDE!

Always got to try and correct me... ;)  :) KIDS. :eek:hmy:
Tally Ho... The Red Devils ride again...
I've seen you get into trouble with your German (like your LT said)... You do know
enough to get into and out of trouble. Accents and slang from regions help a bit.
No worries on correcting your landings down under. I'm sure that Jenny is closer to
Brisbane than she is to Perth anyways.
