Getting closer to move-in time - Work bench photos

Getting ever closer on the house. We're putting finish wall color on and just bought the floor tiles to do the rooms that have no flooring at all. We will probably move in before we do the floors in all the rooms, but that's okay.

Finished wall color in Renee's office/sewing room

Walls in the master bedroom and bathroom ready for final color. Most of the trim will be replaced. This is that funky foam trim.

My studio was done first because the handy man doing the heavy work was working in the rest of the house. I've started moving my hobby stuff in to the new studio. I still need to pull out one of the windows and frame up for the window unit. I may do that this weekend. I also took time this past weekend to get the yard tamed. You know you live in Southwest Louisiana when it's 35 degrees outside and the grass needs to be cut.

This is a portable airbrush booth Renee had bought me for my birthday a couple of years ago. I bought the vent kit for it recently and vented it through the exterior wall.

Custom made paint rack. This should hold all of my Vallejo paints. Right now, all my paints are in a Rubbermaid rolling cart with drawers. I may see if I have room to make another paint rack.

Most of my artwork has been stashed here and there, so I started hanging in the new studio.

Re: Getting closer to move in time

Looks like you are making quite a bit of progress. I love the paint rack. I need to build something like that for myself.

Re: Getting closer to move in time

Thanks guys. The paint rack was easy to build. 1/4" pine lattice with a small strip of screen moulding in the front. The wife got me a 24" flat screen tv for my birthday. It will be mounted in the corner of the room where my desk meets the work bench. Still looking at options as to where to place my small airbrush compressor. It's not very loud, but I may place it somewhere and pipe in the air to reduce the noise even more.

Here is the floor plan. I am leaving most of the space in the bottom right open. We're eventually going to get a small chest freezer and it will go on the same wall as the outside door (yes, I do have a way to sneak kits in). I'll also throw a couple of dog pillows down for our older three dogs. We're going to keep them in here during the day while we're at work. They've had to be outside dogs since we moved into the cabin and it's time they get to enjoy the air conditioning and heater again.

Re: Getting closer to move-in time

Hey all! Well, we got 5 rooms completely painted. A couple of friends of ours came by and helped knock out the master bath, the wife's office and the laundry room. While they were painting, I was able to get one of the windows in the hobby room ready for a window unit, framed out and plywood covering the outside and trimmed out on the inside. I also, got some more of my storage areas for the model room built.

Here's the workbench section. You can see the paint rack with my Vallejo paints put away. The flat screen is my birthday present from my wife.

Here is the cabinet I built today. What is in it? Scroll and see.

The cabinet hold my pegboard storage! This way everything is out of the way.
