I am currently also building player 1s ship the Ikaruga itself so may play about with this some more as I finish that one.

Wow, that was all going so well until yesterday, having said that we had a great time doing this our first model together. So much fun that I (Dad), have been wandering around eBay looking for more sci-fi kits, and there will be another one appearing around this website sometime soon.
