Franz von Werra's Bf109 E4

Fantastic work as always Paul!

Very glad to see that you got the engine plug fixed up the way you wanted. It looks good peaking through the cowl and those exhausts look awesome!

Thanks Warren!

Something I only noticed last week is that the exhausts on the real planes were basically seamless tubing. They are smooth on the outer surface. The Eduard kit had what looks like a weld seam down the center of the tubes. I simply scraped them down where they are smooth and did some repaint.

Just to let everyone know I am still working on this just Veerrryy Slowly.

LOL! I have had cats as well Mark! Some can be real good other will do nothing but tear stuff up.

Anyway, it time for a long overdue update. It is a short one, but I got some more little things tidied up.

Yeah I didn't really ponder all that long, I just lost my MoJo for a short while. I am currently working on the control surfaces filling in the stupid recesses that Eduard put in. I guess they can be good if you wan to do some battle damage and open up the frame, but if not the recesses on the surfaces are completely wrong.

Really interesting thread Paul, i have just caught up here. absolutely agree about the fit of a lot of panels. We are very spoiled by the rebuilt warbirds of today with CAD designed and laser cut panels. Look at any spitfire over here today and the panel fit and finish would make 21st century Audi pleased :)

Paddy, Thanks for looking in! I am always inventing ways to solve problems. In doing the research it becomes quite apparent just how crude the fit and finish of these planes were during the war. Thus I don't worry too much about "slight" panel mismatches. If done right it actually can add to the character of the build. The key is the references.

Thanks for looking Barney!

Thanks for your comment Mark! I just wish I could build as fast as you do!

Thanks Paul but this one is here.
It's up in the header of the forum but I have to convert it to HTML.

Yeah, I need to check my badges too. I think some dropped off when the upgrade happened. I do know that I completed all three Call to Arms campaigns.
