Here is Eduard's TORA TORA TORA boxing of their new Zero. Great detail and goes together really well. All markings are painted on.

VERY nice! Why didn't you use the kit decals? From what I understood, they are the type with the removable decal film.

I am not a fan of eduard's decals now. 2 of my biggest complaints with them are the color register of the decals and being too thin.

Back in 2019 when they switched up their decal design, they made them too thin. So then they made the carrier film thicker and as a result, you can remove the film if you want too but that is all by accident.

There are quite a few complaint on the Eduard FB page about these decals. The carrier film does not always remove correctly and sometimes you have to rub the film with paint thinner to dissolve the film and if too much, will mess the color up of the decal as well.

Also with this new release the Hinomaru is more of a lighter almost faded look.
 
There are two sides to the decals. Some swear by them and other don't. On two occasions, I've had to break into my other kits to rob the decals just to be able to finish. Make damn sure you get them close to where you want them, they do not like to be moved around much and don't use warm water on them.

Here are some pictures from the new Zero kit where the user tired to remove the film. This is what can happen and has happen to me. What is BS is the guy caught all kinds of hell and not the crap decals and Eduard who makes them. FB is the debil

The carrier film is like a scab. And the stencils have horrible jagged edges in the film as well.

Saying all that, I will still continue to buy Eduard but glad I can make the majority of the main markings with my cameo.

Indeed! Not so easy to make shark mouth schemes on a Cameo unless one scans the decal sheet first to use as a template. With no Cameo here, I do what I used to do many moons ago, scan a decal sheet (and scale up or down as needed) then print it out to cut masks on Frisket paper.

Saul, get your bad self down to the store and buy a vinyl cutter! The new versions are stout enough to cut thin plastic too.
 
Officially the last one of 2021. I see more of these being built in the future.

No problems with the build that I could note, just some instrument placement in the cockpit that could had been a little more straightforward.
